#Interview Perdita Weeks Previews the ‘High-Octane, High-Drama, Action-Packed’ Midseason Finale

Perdita Weeks gave an interview to the website “Give Me My Remote,” where she commented on episode 10 (Spring Finale), which is a direct continuation of episode 9.

Watch Magnum P.I. Sundays at 9pm on NBC, according to IMDB it airs 23 Apr. 2023

She also talked about Higgins’ feelings, who has just confessed her feelings to Magnum and gone through a turbulent time, where she had to deal with her emotions and traumas. Read below:

“It’s a direct continuation—it’s as though [episodes] 9 and 10 are sort of a double [feature],” Weeks tells Give Me My Remote of “Charlie Foxtrot.” For Magnum and Higgins, “they’re still on the sofa at the beginning of the next one. All hell is about to break loose.”

“Higgins is about to encounter some foes herself,” she continues. “It’s quite a high-octane, high-drama, action-packed [episode]—it’s a really awesome fight sequence that takes place…it kind of doesn’t let up until the very end. It’s a good ride.”

Elsewhere, “Rick is in dire danger—or about to be,” she teases.

The timing of this danger couldn’t be worse for Higgins, though, who just confessed to Magnum she still carried trauma from losing her ex-fiance, Richard…and blamed herself for not being more aware of the threats surrounding them during their relationship.

“She’s very much putting her cards on the table [with Magnum], being like, ‘You have to take good care of yourself, because you belong to me. And I will also be on high-alert, and that’s just how it’s gonna be,’” Weeks says. “That’s her personality type. She gives herself a very hard time with everything. That’s just in her very self-disciplined nature.”

“But at the same time, I think all of these characters from their backgrounds, military and otherwise, thrive under this kind of pressure,” she continues. “This is where they operate incredibly well. And, obviously, Higgins and Magnum make quite a good team after all these years.”

However, this concern will be something that lingers for Higgins going forward. “I think that will be something that is hardwired into her due to past trauma, you know?” Weeks says. “And it is something that Magnum will just have to live with and deal with—and I’ve no doubt it will be the cause of future altercations between them. But you know, it’s all well-meaning. I think Magnum knows her better than anyone else. So, you know, whilst it will cause a few bumps, it’s no more than that.”
