Magnum P.I. debuts to strong ratings on NBC

Magnum P.I. fans were eager to find out how their favorite tv show debuted in its new home, and the reviews from various entertainment sites are unanimous: the series had a very successful debut!

Once airing on CBS, the show is now airing on NBC and the ratings might’ve seen a fall from the Season 4 premiere but we think it debuted very strong for a show that switched channels. Majority of the fans returned for the premiere.

Of course, on CBS, the Tv Show was already established with 4 seasons and a loyal audience for its broadcast days and times, achieving high ratings. Nevertheless, the network decided to cancel the series.

Season 5 debuted 2 episodes at once:

Episode 1 “The Passenger”: it received 3.751M views and a .30 demo.

Episode 2 “The Breaking Point”: received 3.228M views and a .30 demo.

NBC had the great challenge of converting its audience to watch Magnum P.I. and also trying to bring the old audience (from CBS) to watch the fifth season in its new home. To achieve this, the network invested heavily (and very well!) in advertising and promotions, even using its main shows to help with social media promotion. Taking all of this into consideration, we can say that the series had a very successful debut!

Furthermore, fans are going crazy over Miggy! It was trending on Twitter during the premiere, and social media is still full of fan videos and photos of the couple.

It was also commented on the difference in quality of photography, image, and characterization between the fourth and fifth seasons, where the new season performed much better! The lighting made all the difference and enhanced the actors. We can say that the fans are more than satisfied with the network change.

Congratulations to the cast and crew! We couldn’t be more proud of Perdita Weeks for her amazing performance as Juliet Higgins in new season.
